Master Data Maintenance using Visual Composer within a planning application

During the planning process with BI-IP, it is often necessary to record and compile planning data for new master data sets (account, cost centre, order etc.).

In the SAP standard, such data must first be recorded in ERP and then loaded into BW before further scheduling can be carried out. However, there is also the possibility of maintaining these objects in BW – a user friendly method can be configured with Visual Composer:

A planning step in this application involves the verification of the assignment of cost centres and cost types. Missing or incorrect assignment can be configured or changed in the web front-end and the short descriptive texts can also be edited.

First, select in the left hand frame on the left whether cost types or objects (cost centres / internal orders) are to be edited; a detailed selection then appears in the upper frame. The cost centres that have not been allocated are displayed in the example.

After clicking on the Submit button, the relevant cost centres are selected via a Bex analyser query and are displayed in Visual Composer.

A row can be marked and then the area for editing the object is reached via "Modify Mapping(s)".

Only the function and validity of the cost centre can be edited here, and the entries are confirmed by pressing Submit.

The same applies to the attributes for the cost elements.

Following editing, the amended master data is immediately available for planning purposes.

The composition of objects can also be realised with Visual Composer.

The configuration of the functions depicted above is carried out in Visual Composer Storyboard. This allows various user steps applicable to a range of systems (BW, ERP etc.) to be defined and made available in the portal.
