Consolidation
As companies grow and are rapidly subject to changes (e.g. mergers, takeovers), their consolidation requirements increase steadily (2x growth, 2x increasing ….please change[N1] ). Reporting and compliance regulations, different currencies and a range of accounting standards also pose further challenges. SAP offers various solutions in the EPM (Enterprise Performance Management) suite to meet these demands in terms of speed, correctness and also flexibility, thereby ensuring compliance with reporting deadlines,:
- SEM-BCS - Strategic Enterprise Management - Business Consolidation System
- BO-FC - Business Objects - Financial Consolidation
- BO-BPC - Business Objects - Business Planning and Consolidation
We help you to identify and compile your requirements and to select the strategy most suitable for your business needs.
As an independent partner, we can provide you with recommendations regarding suitable consolidation tools.
We can also provide consulting and implementation services for renewing or replacing your consolidation solution during the entire implementation cycle.
Detailed information is available in our flyer about financial consolidation.
Illustration: SEM-BCS consolidation monitor:
SEM-BCS is the right tool if
- Legal/management consulting is to be done in an integrated fashion (matrix consolidation),
- Functional requirements are fulfilled to a great extent by the SEM-BCS,
- Standardised, pre-defined consolidation functionality is desired,
- SAP BI is being used as the reporting platform,
- Integrated OLAP reporting is required,
- Synergies for system and licensing costs are to be identified,
- SAP is prevalent as a local ERP system,
- EC-CS was previously in use (process / expertise),
- The requirements are high with regard to the change process.
BO-FC – ideal for heterogeneous organisations and IT environments:
BO-FC is the right tool if
- A complex decentralised consolidation scenario is to be modelled,
- Individual consolidation functionality is of greater importance than a standardised process,
- Manual compilation of data, including the addition of comments, is important,
- A simple and fast consolidation process is a priority,
- Extensive consolidation variants are to be modelled,
- A number of inhomogeneous front-end systems are to be connected,
- Integration in existing reporting architectures is not required.
